About the Project

Many start-ups and young entrepreneurs bringing fresh and disruptive ideas to the market lack an expertise on circular business models and cannot benefit from sustainable market opportunities.

CircularStart addresses this challenge, and aims at delivering new innovative training material on sustainable and circular business models. During the project, the learning material will be tested with incubators and, finally, published on this website.

With an increased know-how on Circular Economy, start-ups can evaluate and improve the environmental, social and economic impacts of their business ideas right from the beginning.

The project brings together 9 partners from four EU countries. The project is a 2-year ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership, funded by the European Union through SEPIE, the Spanish National Agency for International Education.

Project Results

We have developed extensive learning material and tools that can be applied to new entre/intrapreneurial ideas and projects throughout the whole innovation execution cycle!

Check out the Guidance Tool to get a good overview of the Sustain/CircularStart online course and how it supports you in your innovation cycle, starting from the idea and ending up to market establishment. Our Circular Readiness Stages will guide you throughout your innovation execution management, and indicate the most relevant learning units in the online eLearning course.

The main output of the CircularStart project is the online course, which aims to help Start-ups integrating and applying Circular Economy and sustainability principles and strategies into their business models. It is divided into four course modules based on the themes Ideation, Integration, Validation and Implementation. The contents are designed as a self-paced learning experience and are available for free.

With the Sustainability/Circular Assessment Tool you may evaluate your sustainability/circularity performance of your business model from the beginning on.

We have developed a number of addititional resources for the course:

  • A narrated presentation giving an overview of the course contents
  • A trainers manual, addressing incubators to integrate the materials in their trainings
  • A pdf-version of the Guidance Tool
  • A CircularStart Business Model Canvas
